Case:
The patient is a 31-year-old woman undergoing ovarian stimulation during IVF treatment.
She developed sudden abdominal pain the day before her planned egg retrieval.
An ultrasound scan showed an oedematous ovary with multiple follicles without blood supply.
Her egg retrieval went ahead as planned the following day and soon after, she was submitted for an operative laparoscopy.
